Our Partners have substantial experience of working in proactive and reactive management of the historic environment, and come from a solid background in archaeology and historic building conservation, reinforced by higher level qualifications in history and illustration.
We have a wide-ranging background in the public and private sector, including providing Local Planning Authorities with archaeological and building conservation advice on the implications of development on the full range of designated and undesignated heritage assets - historic buildings, archaeology and landscapes. We have expertise in assessing Significance, Need and Impact and in developing Conservation Management Plans for the future management of assets, assisting with the development of schemes for new uses in historic buildings, advising on risk, condition, maintenance and management, and coordinating and negotiating with Historic England and others for appropriate reuse, repairs and alterations.
In addition, we have worked on a variety of projects including Historic Environment Record (HER) enhancement projects, aerial photographic interpretation and Historic Area Appraisals - Conservation Area Appraisals, Extensive Urban Survey and Historic Landscape Characterisation.
We have a particular strength in heritage grants, including with the Heritage Lottery Fund and Historic England. To date we have been involved in a number of successful grant projects, and we have direct experience of reviewing the eligibility of clients proposals for funding, making successful applications, delivering projects on the ground and evaluating the results.
